Summary thought on Amos that can apply to us –
Everyone answers to God.
Complacency can lead to a disastrous future.
Are we more satisfying ourselves – our day to day lives, than satisfying God? What are we doing to satisfy God? Are we tithing? Are we spending good prayer/conversation with God outside of church? Are we reading the bible to grow in our faith? Are we loving our neighbors as ourselves?
Do we oppress/ignore the poor? Do we just feel sorry for the poor, but don’t do anything for them? Do we give them food/money/love?
Do we have a superficial religion? Merely going to church falls short of true religion. God wants us to no just show up to church so it makes us feel good, or just doing it so you get to Heaven. God wants heartfelt obedience and commitment.
My prayer is to not settle for complacency, but to grow and commit our lives for the Lord to become the person that He wants us to be.

I love you saying "Are we reading the Bible to GROW OUR FAITH?" Some people don't understand that you can be "empty" in your reading!
I ECHO your prayer brother!!!! And I agree... John 4:24 says "24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
It's so much more than CHURCH ATTENDANCE!!!
